The MFA web site is your tool to learn about issues concerning forest resources, forest land ownership, forest management, the forest community and forest products industry in Maryland. Incorporated in 1976, MFA is a statewide, nonprofit , 501(c)(3) organization. Our members are forest landowners, foresters and other natural resource professionals, hunt clubs and recreational groups, logging and trucking companies, the forest products industries, related businesses and individuals who believe in the wise-use of our forest resources.

OUR MISSION

The mission of Maryland Forests Association is to conserve and enhance forests in Maryland by:increasing awareness of the diverse, public benefits of forests;supporting the sustainable use of forest resources;promoting economic opportunity for forest landowners;maintaining a viable local forest products industry.

MFA strives to accomplish its mission by:Monitoring and influencing legislation and regulation that affect forests and the forestry community.Promoting growth in MFA membership and finances.Recognizing recipients for outstanding contributions on behalf of Maryland’s forest resources.

We believe forest conservation is best accomplished through education;
